Vegetal i.D. built 2 green roofs on a university restaurant. The R+1 roof was been made watertight on a concrete medium (reverse waterproofing) and the R+2 roof was made watertight on a steel system. The i.D. MAT sedum mat was installed on both roofs.
The key-points of the project:
- The green roof on a steel medium (R+2) has significant stresses from load and lifting.
- The green roof on a concrete medium with reverse insulation: the weight of the planted system must be added to the ballasting provided by the insulator.
- The planted surfaces are narrow and delicate to water. Special watering equipment must be used: This installation used rectangular nozzle spray irrigation.
- Presence of solar panels on one of the planted surfaces: selection of sedums able to support semi-shaded exposure, and special watering to irrigate the concealed area well.
